Unlock Possibility With Greater Insight Through Psychodrama

Speak to Us

Psychodrama was developed by Romanian psychiatrist and therapist Dr. Jacob Moreno in the early 20th century, inspired by his own experience in theatre and performance. Dr. Moreno was deeply interested in the power of imaginative expression and the creative process unfolding within a dedicated space that holds the intention of healing. He applied drama and theatre therapeutically as a means for clients – called protagonists - to discover insights about themselves by exploring different performative scenarios that can allow shifts and variations in outcomes to be experienced and internalized. Moreno’s method combines elements of psychology, theater, and social interaction in order to facilitate emotional expression, personal growth, and healing.

Samar Abdo Said Elhais
Somatic Therapist, Social Worker

Samar is our Psychodrama therapist and group therapy facilitator. Samar first discovered the power of psychodrama when she and her colleagues were going through the training together and a traumatizing incident happened in a nearby community, allowing them the opportunity to immediately experience the method personally. Samar was in awe of the direct and transformative power of psychodrama to engage with people in a very real and interactive way, individually and collectively. Helping people and communities creatively address their goals and challenges through psychodrama is one of her greatest passions.
